Seed bed precision cultivator with folding frame
GRATOR is MASCHIO GASPARDO's lightweight seedbed cultivator. Available in working widths ranging from 3 to 12 m, it is designed to work with tractors with horsepower in the 80 to 340 range.
Seedbed cultivators are designed for minimum tillage. They are used to break up and finish the soil, while removing weeds from the top 10 cm.
The combined action of the tools and the high work speeds (8-12 km/h) results in excellent clod breaking and high productivity with any soil type.
GRATOR comes with two frame types: a mounted fixed frame up to 6 m; or semi-mounted folding frame for 9 and 12m versions. The sprung tools are connected directly to the frame. The twin rear roller, which serves to break up the soil, is connected by means of mechanical jacks that are also used for depth control.
The implement folds up hydraulically to a transport width of 2.5 and 3 m for mounted and semi-mounted frame versions respectively.
The front levelling blade levels the ground, while the spring tines in the central section break up the top 10 cm of soil to a fine tilth. GRATOR is fitted with two types of tine. The gamma tines, which have a straight profile and narrow tip, are less aggressive on soil, loosening the surface crust without excessive mixing to retain any moisture in the soil. The delta tines, which have a curved profile and wide tip, are suitable for working on different types of soil, are more aggressive and also prove effective in pulling out any weeds.
Bringing up the rear, the twin cage roller levels the soil, preparing it for seeding.
