MASCHIO GASPARDO is now present in the robotics setor

With the agreement concluded on 4 November 2022, Maschio Gaspardo has entered the nominal capital of Free Green Nature S.r.l. based in Colle Umberto (Treviso).

Free Green Nature S.r.l. is an innovative start-up established in 2020. The objective of its business is the development, the design and the production of high-tech machineries, in particular mechatronic equipment, robotic systems for agriculture and machines for viruses and bacteria control. 

The agreement provides for the subscription of a nominal capital increase with the acquisition of the majority shareholding by Maschio Gaspardo. In the new team, the founding partners, Valter Mazzarolo and Valerio Balliana, will pay a strategic role in the development of the product and the company and at the same time they will maintain operational roles.

The first project carried out by Free Green Nature consists in the development of Icaro X4, a cutting-edge patented robot for the treatment of vineyards with UV-C rays, completely autonomous, which aims to reduce the environmental impact up to 90% compared to conventional techniques that use chemical products.

Icaro X4 is a technological product composed of different parts, each with its specific function. Rather than a machine, it is a tireless collaborator on wheels. The first hybrid robot in the world for the prevention of fungal diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew and botrytis, typical of vineyards, taking advantage from the power of ultraviolet UV-C rays, in complete safety for people and environment thanks to the cutting-edge autonomous navigation and its sensors for human detection. In addition to the drastic reduction of chemicals in viticulture, this robot reduces CO2 emissions thanks to an engine with integrated hybrid system. Even fixed costs of the operator in charge of driving a traditional system are reduced thanks to the intelligent autonomous driving.

The project is based on a sophisticated system of technologies, from mechanics to kinematics to electronics and information technology. The company has independently developed an RTK (Real Time Kinematic) system, consisting of antennas for georeferencing, a user-friendly telemetry system also accessible from smartphones, an environmental (meteorological) analysis station and security cameras with artificial intelligence, all in line with the provisions of industry 4.0.
